Data Research Centres

As part of Phase 2 of the Big Data Network, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) is funding three Data Research Centres with a focus on Business and Local Government Data.

Consumer Data Research Centre

The Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC) was established by the ESRC to work with private and public data suppliers to ensure efficient, effective and safe use of consumer data in social science.

The Centre brings together world-class researchers from the University of Leeds, University College London, University of Liverpool and the University of Oxford to offer a range of expert services to a wide range of users.

Data and resources

The CDRC provides a searchable data catalogue which covers a range of topics concerning the characteristics, constraints and outcomes of consumption.

Where data are flagged as Open you can register and download these immediately. For Safeguarded and Secure data, these require further registration and approval. More details can be found on the CDRC's website.

Training and services

The Centre also offers a range of training courses for academic and non-academic researchers, aimed at enhancing capacity in data analytics and data visualisation methods.
